    About

The Brave are an energetic, talented and fun ceilidh band performing traditional ceilidh with a twist. These guys have a solid back beat (Groove) to the band so it's a little more modern than the old school ceilidh bands. Essentially this gives the band a bit more energy and the result is that more people dance!

These guys are one of the best ceilidh bands Scotland has to offer and are perfect for weddings, corporate events, parties or any other occasion. You can book them instantly online here by clicking the 'Check Availability & Book' button on this page.

    FREE DJ

It would be a little over kill to have ceilidh from 8pm-12am so the band offer to mix this up with DJ Sets. They play a great mix of music to keep everyone up all night! This is included in the bands price, however, and additional DJ from 12am-1am can be added on to the booking at an additional fee.

    Band Q&A

How long do you play for? – The ceilidh is between 8pm-12am with a 30min break”
Do you provide background music on your break? - Yes we do, background music can be played via an iPod or we are happy to play any MP3/iPod supplied by yourselves through our PA.”
What time would you arrive to set up? - “We would arrive 1 hour beforehand and it will take us about 40 minutes to set-up and sound check” (1 hour if supplying Disco too)
Will you learn a piece of music if requested? - “If you request a piece of traditional music we will learn it and play it on the night. We require you to supply the name of the tune or the sheet music at least one month prior to the function date.”
Can we choose what dances do you play? - “See the attached list of dances,  if your favourite dance is not there we will do our best to learn it for the ceilidh”
Can you set up before the meal? - “Yes we can however, if we do an afternoon set up, it will incur an early set up fee to cover the extra time involved”
Can we hear you live before our wedding/event? - “You can hear the band by coming to one of our showcase gigs and say hi! It’s always good to meet brides, grooms and clients before the event, alternatively, there are a number of public ceilidhs in which to hear the band live.”
Do you give dance instructions? – Yes, we can call all the dances.
Do you play in venues with sound limiters? - “We are happy to play at venues with sound limiters and always do our best to perform with as much energy as possible under the sound restrictions. Some venues have more sensitive sound restrictions than others.
Do you supply disco? – We can provide a disco set to follow the ceilidh.
